For extreme heavy-duty use (e.g., firefighter gear), we recommend a 300+ GSM rib or a reinforced version. For standard industrial workwear and outdoor jackets, 240GSM is ideal.

Does the 1x1 rib structure shrink after washing?
No. The fabric is pre-shrunk during finishing. Shrinkage is below 2% in both directions after five 40°C machine washes. The rib pattern remains uniform, and the elasticity is unaffected.

Yes. We offer a GRS-certified recycled polyester version of this exact 240GSM 1x1 rib fabric. The recycled yarn is sourced from post-consumer PET bottles. The stretch (>130%), recovery (>90%), tear strength (>38N), and abrasion resistance (Grade 4) are all within 5% of the virgin version. The recycled rib also maintains the same dimensional stability and colorfastness. Minimum order for recycled is 800 meters. Please request a recycled swatch and a copy of the GRS certificate for verification.

What is the typical lead time for this rib fabric?
For stock colors, lead time is 25-30 days after order confirmation. For custom Pantone colors, add 10-12 days for lab dip development and approval. Bulk production then takes 25-30 days. Expedited service may be available for orders ≥2000 meters – please inquire.

How do I care for garments that use this rib trim?
Machine wash cold (30°C) with like colors. Do not bleach. Tumble dry low or hang dry. Do not use fabric softener; it can coat the fibers and reduce elasticity. Avoid high-heat ironing directly on the rib. Following these steps, the rib will retain its stretch and recovery for over 50 washes.
